This competition is AHA sanctioned and open to any paid amateur homebrewer age 21 or older.

All entries must be received at the drop off location by the entry deadline.

The competition organizers are not responsible for miss-categorized entries, dropped off entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged. If an entry arrives damage, the participant will be notified.

The competition organizers reserve the right to combine styles for judges on a table or flight. Your entry will be judged according to the category and sub-category the participants identifies it as. The competition organizers also reserve the right to restructure the awards as needed depending upon the quantity and quality of entries.

Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry per the 2015 BJCP guidelines. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.

Mead makers are not limited to one entry in each category but may only enter each subcategory once. Each participant can only enter 5 entries for the competition.

The competition committee reserves the right to combine overall style categories based on number of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All meads in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were entered in.

Final scores will be posted via this website under your login access after the awards ceremony. Once all the score sheets have been scanned and uploaded to this website an email notification will go out to the entrants to download their score sheets. It is the responsibility of the entrant to download their score sheets while they are available on this website. Physical score sheets will not be returned or retained. An email notification will be sent out before the score sheets are removed from this website.

Best of Show

Places will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each table. The Best of Show judging will be determined by a Best of Show panel based on a second judging of the top winners. The 1st place entry in each table will advance to the Best of Show (BOS) round with a single, overall Best of Show mead selected.



The awards ceremony will take place once judging and lunch has been served. Additional prizes may be awarded to those winners present at the awards ceremony at the discretion of the competition organizers.

Awards will be available for pick up after the ceremony concludes. Awards not picked up will be mailed to participants. Results will be posted to the competition web site after the ceremony concludes.
